What does the Flexible Ticket option do and how can I use it?

The Flexible Ticket is an optional add-on available during the booking process that gives you the freedom to change your travel dates without paying the airline's penalty fee. It's designed as a safety net for travelers who want extra flexibility in case their plans change.

Here's how it works: if you need to change your flight dates after booking, the airline normally charges a penalty fee for the change, which can be as high as $150 or more. With a Flexible Ticket, Farera covers that penalty fee on your behalf. You will only need to pay any fare difference if your new flight costs more than the original one.

To use your Flexible Ticket, submit your date change request at least 72 hours before your scheduled departure. Go to MyArea and use the Flight Changes feature under Extra Services. Select your preferred new dates and our team will check availability and present you with the available options and any fare difference that may apply.

The Flexible Ticket is ideal for travelers whose itinerary is not fully set in stone. Whether you're waiting for an event confirmation, dealing with a shifting work schedule, or simply want the peace of mind that changing your dates won't come with a hefty penalty, this option has you covered.

Please note that the Flexible Ticket covers airline penalty fees only. Any fare difference between your original and new flight, as well as applicable taxes or surcharges, will still need to be covered by you. The change also depends on the airline having available seats on your preferred new dates.

If you're interested in adding a Flexible Ticket to your booking, simply select the option during the checkout process before completing your payment. It cannot be added after the booking has been finalized.
