When online check-in is not available
Most tickets can be checked in online, usually from 24 to 48 hours before departure, on the airline's website or app. MyArea holds your booking reference, the passenger name, and a direct link to the right check-in page. When it doesn't work, the cause is usually one of four things.
The airline can't find the booking yet. Some airlines only load reservations into their online systems closer to departure, so we recommend trying again nearer the time.
Your itinerary has more than one reference. Where a trip is built from separate tickets, each one has its own reference and each is checked in separately, so check MyArea for all of them.
Your fare requires airport check-in. Some fares can only be checked in at the airline's desk. Go to the counter with your passport or ID and allow extra time; airlines that charge for airport check-in don't charge it where the fare requires it.
The details don't match. Enter the surname exactly as it's shown in MyArea, without accents or special characters.
If none of that fixes it, message us in MyArea before you leave for the airport. And we recommend leaving early regardless: 2 to 3 hours before a short flight, 3 to 4 before a long one.
